Wine Enthusiast ratings for my wines are enthusiastic! The most recent tastings take into considerations only white and rosé wines that eventually express all their potential a few months after the bottling.
Too bad that all of them are sold out at this point...
However, Kerin O'Keefe’s opinion confirms what you, wonderful customers and friends, have thought of this harvest 2017 during the past year: the wines are full, expressive, and intense, enriched by the pleasant salty freshness that the Mediterranean winds bring to the vineyards in Tenuta Belicello.
Here are the Wine Enthusiast’s reviews:
- Coste al Vento Grillo Menfi DOC 2017 has conquered a fa-bu-lous 90/100, confirming the outstanding personality that Grillo grapes express in Menfi’s terroir. Ripe apricot, pressed Spanish broom and candied lemon drops define an intriguing, fresh and crunchy wine. Here’s the full review.
- Ammàno Vino bianco #5 (2017) at its first international release gains an excellent score of 88/100, which is not obvious for an orange wine. This comment makes me smile: I find that "unusual" is a real praise for Ammàno, because it comes from a market and a tasting approach that tends to underestimate macerated and unfiltered wines. Here’s the full review.
- Tivitti Inzolia Menfi DOC 2017 reaches the same score of 88/100, which is an exceptional result for an easy and immediate wine with a phenomenal price-quality ratio. Its bouquet has conquered Kerin’s palate: yellow stone fruit, Spanish broom, dried apricot, and orange rind stand out on a very pleasant briny finish. Here’s the full review.
- La Bambina Rosato Menfi DOC 2017 gets a very positive 86/100 thanks to its "informal" palate. It is a wine that recalls a huge bunch of wild flowers, a hint of sage, and Mediterranean scrub, framing a basket full of pink grapefruit and unripe pomegranate. Great job Baby Rose! Here’s the full review.
Thanks Kerin, we'll be in touch soon for the reds!
