Cantine Barbera: Inzolia vineyards in Spring
Pin It

Sicily in May is a real beauty: flowers, blue skies and warm temperatures are ideal conditions to enjoy nature

Last Saturday I brought Pablo to Tenuta Belicello for a walk in the vineyards.

Belìce in May displays the beautiful show of Mother Nature: the swamp reeds grow in the dykes, waving their tall luxuriant plumes, poppies and daisies wink from the trails, flocks of herons come back from Africa to nest alongside the river.

The air has changed: the vines wake up, all covered with young bright green leaves. It’s time for spring labours in the vineyard: bud control, trellis and canopy management, protection of the young vines that have been replanted in January.

The small vine’s blossoms start to flourish. Their delicate perfume brings a smile to my face: a new harvest is on the way!
